Trailing plants are best to see the full beauty of the plant wall and many of the options listed below grow quickly with minimal upkeep. Here’s what we recommend...
1. Pothos
Pothos are fast growing, adaptable to many light conditions, and hardy when it comes to water. We recommend one of the many varieties of Pothos (Golden, Marble Queen, Jade, & Neon to name a few!) to fill your plant wall! You’ll notice new growth often as the vines quickly begin to fill the trellis.
2. Philodendron
Similar in both shape and size to the Pothos, the many varieties of Philodendron feature heart shaped leaves that will trail effortlessly through your trellis. They also require minimal upkeep (see all of our easy house plant recommendations here.
3. Mini Monstera
Although not a Monstera at all, the Raphidophora Tetrasperma, resembles the Monstera with its unique split leaves. This plant will grow more slowly than the Pothos or Philodendron, but naturally seeks sunlight and will attach to your plant wall as it grows.
4. Monstera Adansonii
Sometimes called a ‘swiss cheese plant’, Monstera Adansonii are known for their highly fenestrated leaves. Vines can grow up to 12’ long and thrive in medium to bright, indirect light.
5. Hoya Carnosa
The Hoya may not be the fastest growing plant on this list, but the beautiful and fragrant flowers mature plants produce are well worth the wait! Hoya’s produce long vines and waxy leaves that can thrive in bright direct light. Hoya’s also prefer a root bound pot, so you won’t have to worry about repotting anytime soon!
